Windows Live provides users with a portal of services like Calendar, Space, Messenger, Photo Gallery, Writer etc. Windows Live Calendar lets you store reminders, birthdays, meetings etc and is a full featured online calendar.
But for every small change you want to make or just to check for future meetings, you have to go all the way to the Windows Live Calendar website.

Windows Vista Sidebar for XP

Lots of applications and utilities have trried to clone Wwindows Vista’s sidebar, but haven’t been able to come up with something up to the mark. All of them had limited number of gadgets (some didn’t have any), and used a lot of system resources.
Joshoon from DeviantArt have managed to port the real Windows Sidebar (originally found in Windows Vista) to Windows XP using Alky For Applications. Alky makes makes it possible to run Vista apps on Windows XP.

With the release of Windows Vista, Microsoft introduced a new feature called WIndow Sidebar. It lets you access information quickly. It contains a few gadgets in it by default, like a big clock, RSS headlines, Picture album slideshows etc.
You can also add your own gadgets which are available for free download from the Windows Live Gallery. I have compiled a list of 5 Vista gadgets that I can’t live without when I’m using Vista.
