Windows 7 Introduced, And Screenshots

Today, at Day 2 of Professional Developers Conference 2008, Microsoft has officially unveiled its next OS, that we all have been waiting for, Windows 7!

Yesterday, they focused on unveiling their cloud OS called, Windows Azure. But today, they introduced Windows 7 along with its few features and UI screenshots that I have posted below.

Windows 7 will be called “Windows 7″

Microsoft has finally announced that their upcoming OS will be officially called as Windows 7, the codename itself. This is the first time Microsoft will ever use the codename for the final product.

Mike Nash, of Windows Vista blog, confirmed this yesterday and said that Microsoft will continue to share more details with developers on Windows 7 at PDC and WinHEC conferences.

Windows 7 M3 Build 6780 Screenshots

Windows 7 logoMicrosoft recently released Milestone 3 (build 6780) of their upcoming operating system Windows 7 to a few selected partners and manufacturers. They still haven’t revealed the final name for the OS.

This time the screenshots went up online first at ThinkNext revealing the new features and revamped design of Windows 7 applications.

Since the first fake Windows Seven screenshots got on the Internet, people have been eagerly waiting for transformation packs to transform their current Windows XP or Vista to look like Windows 7, as shown in those screenshots.

Download Windows 7 Theme for XP

Windows 7 is the next upcoming OS from Microsoft. And for some reason, they are not letting out much details about this OS. So I don’t think we’ll be able to get our hands on it any time soon. But what if we get to enjoy its look and feel on Windows XP and Vista, eh? Since not much is known about the OS, this theme looks more like Windows Vista, but its nice to see some refreshing changes to the same old look.

15 Cool Windows 7 Screenshots Surfacing The Internet

Since I did my last post on Windows 7, I’ve been in search of various ‘possible’ Windows 7 screenshots I could find online. During my search, I stumbled across one big article at CrunchGear which had about 15 screenshots of Windows 7, and believe me… They looked very yummy enough to try them out. I wish I can get a leaked copy of Windows 7 from some where :D I’m dying to try it out.

Introducing Windows 7 With Real Screenshots

If you thought Windows Vista was the end of Windows franchise, then you’re wrong. Currently in development, is Micorosft’s next version of Windows named as Windows 7. It is expected to be released in 2010, four years after the release of Vista. Windows 7 or Windows Seven, was initially codenamed as Blackcomb, but later in 2006 it was renamed as Windows Vienna and last year it was named as Windows 7. Who knows, we might hear a new name by Microsoft this year?

This time Microsoft is expecting to surprise its users and customers with performance tweaks and improvements rather than providing eye-candy visuals like they did in Windows Vista. Some of the latest features in news, regarding Windows 7 are, support for Virtual Hard Disks, new user-interface, a new calculator (totally lame!) etc.
