Diwali Theme for Orkut

I know Diwali was on Nov 9, and this post should have been made earlier this month. But Orkut already had a cool theme for this occasion. That theme was still available to be used a few days back, but it has been removed now.

Many people liked the theme, and wanted it to stay, but Orkut didn’t noticed this and removed it. But no worries folks! A guy called Mr. Nobody has made the same theme as a Greasemonkey script for Firefox users. Now you can enjoy the theme for as long as you want :)

Delete your Inbox messages rapidly in Orkut

As Orkut is being upgraded, all of code changes have also occured in it. Many of the old scripts don’t work now, such as scrapbook flooder, testimonial flooder, deleting community topics etc.

And the number of spam messages you get in your Orkut inbox is also increasing rapidly. People send you community invitations, and all land in your Orkut inbox. I was quite surprised to see my inbox. It said 2,295 unread messages.

UPDATE (June 9, 2008): You all must be waiting for my reply… Sorry, to make you wait, friends. A few days ago, these themes stopped working, and I was testing them if any of them could work in any way. But unfortunately, these themes are not compatible with the latest changes in Orkut. A new set of compatible and working Orkut themes will be posted by tomorrow. Keep checking back!

Delete a Community Topic in Orkut

Is there a topic against you on Orkut and you want to delete it? Well, I have found a cool javascript code that can delete and topic in a community’s forum. I won’t make this post long with unnecessary stuff. :p

• Go to the first page of the topic
• Paste the following code in the address bar and press ENTER.

javascript:submitForm(document.forms[1],’delete_entire_topic’,”);void(0)

That’s it! Refresh the page, and the topic will be there no more. :)

See your friends map in Orkut

Yesterday while playing with the features of Orkut, I came accross a way to check how big our network is. Actually, it shows a map of how we are connected with our friends, and their friends and so on.

Faster Login for Gmail and Orkut

Last night, somehow, I stumbled upon Tricks4Fun where I found this cool trick to open Gmail and Orkut faster. This trick can be a really very useful for people who use slow dial-up connections. :D

Faster Gmail Interface
To check your mails in a fast way, then simply open http://m.gmail.com and login in with your username and password. Pretty simple, eh? Actually, this interface was created for cell phone users, who want to check their mails. So, slow internet users can take advantage of this and use this to check their mails. :)

Faster Orkut Login
As you all know, that the main Orkut page consists of number of images and that heavy login box. So, just to skip that you can use this alternate log-in page to login your Orkut account. Just point your browser to this url and the log-in page will open. :D
