Emoze Pro version has now become “Free” for everyone! In case you don’t know, Emoze is the popular third-party push email and messaging (kinda like Nokia Messaging) client for Symbian devices.
Yesterday, Emoze blog announced that all the features of the pro version are now available for free.
Facebook for Nokia E71/ E72 was released over a week ago and went on download for free on the Ovi Store. That app was just for the E71 and E72 users which left out the entire S60 3rd edition phone lineup.
Some unknown person has been able to grab the .SIS file of that Facebook app and surprisingly, the app seems to work just fine on all Nokia S60 v3 devices without any problems.
I don’t really share Nokia themes on this blog, but this one is a must-see for every Nokia S60 user. Tehkseven, the popular mobile theme designer, has released S60 Hero, HTC Hero theme for Nokia E72 and E71.
This theme is available for free download and can be downloaded in thre flavours, for standard S60 3rd Edition FP1/FP2 devices, E-series and S60 5th Edition.
Opera Mobile 10 Beta is now available for Nokia and S60 devices. Most notable changes in the new Opera Mobile 10 beta is the sleek design, which Opera first introduced to the world in the recent release of Opera Mini 5 beta.
In the past, all Nokia cameraphones used to have an option to turn on or off the camera shutter sound. But recently, they seem to have removed that option because of misuse of cameraphones in some places and privacy issues.
One way of turning the camera shutter sound off is by hacking into the firmware files and modifying the code. But why get into all that hassle when it can be done from a simple freeware?
With the release of Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, we saw the next version of the OS, S60v5 SymbianOS 9.4 which has opened gates to lots of innovative mobile apps and games.
It’s main feature is the touch support, and powers all the new touch-screen phones from Nokia. Not many applications are available for S60 v5, so I compiled a list of popular apps that you can use with your Nokia 5800.
One thing I noticed when I bought my Nokia N96 is that it has a manufacturing fault in its 16GB mass memory. After installing a few applications and uploading about 8GB of music, I noticed some issues with the video playback.
Whenever I tried to play any videos (pre-loaded or my own), it was stalling with sound breaking up. In oher words, those videos were not viewable on the phone at all.
Recently I wrote on how to use Twitter on your Nokia phone. In that article, I wanted to attach a few screenshots of the Twitter clients running on my phone, but I didn’t know how to take screneshots.
I Googled for a screenshot app for Nokia, and found Screenshot. This useful and popular application is a free tool to take screenshot on your Symbian OS mobile phones (UIQ or S60).
Ever since I got my hands on the Nokia N96, I’ve been trying to find and use a nice, decent Twitter client for Nokia S60 devices. It’s sad to see that there are very few Twitter apps for Nokia, but still I was able to find some nice free apps.
Below is a list I’ve compiled which can help you in running Twitter on an S60 device.
