To hard reset Nexus One has never been this easy. In the past Android phones, to do a clean wipe of our device, we always had to go to the recovery and wipe the data partition.
But in the latest Android 2.1 running on the Nexus One, Google has given an option to restore all settings and the entire phone to factory defaults which is kinda like wiping your data partition completely.
Just now I shared how you can enable (wired) tethering on Nexus One, and here’s another similar tutorial to enable wireless tethering on Nexus One.
In my opinion, wireless tethering is always easier and better to set up than wired tethering as you don’t have to keep your phone connected with a USB cable.
Tethering is one of the first features we try to get when we get a new smartphone like the iPhone, Nokia phones and now the Nexus One. I have previously shared how to enable wired tethering in HTC Hero.
It was easier on the Hero as it comes out of the box on Android 1.5, but you will require to go through some steps before you can enable tethering on the Nexus One too.
Here’s the tutorial that many of you must be looking for. The guide to installing MoDaCo Custom ROM on Nexus One.
I just did a tutorial on how to install the Amon RA’s recovery image on your Nexus One because his recovery software is the best so far with lots of features that you might want to use.
Since Nexus One is still new, there is no “one click root” available for it yet, but I’m sure the team behind Flash Rec will release it soon. Their app for Hero really saves a lot of trouble when rooting it.
In this tutorial on how to install and root your Nexus One using RA Nexus Recovery Image, I’ll use the fastboot method as given by Amon himself.
When it comes to recovery image for Android phones, I should really appreciate Amon RA for his work and the recovery images he releases.
In my tutorial on how to root HTC Hero, I used his recovery image as that was the best option option available. And now he has released the same image for Nexus One too.
Paul has been developing MoDaCo Custom ROMs for almost every Android phone, and just like the Hero MoDaCo Custom ROM, he has also released a custom ROM for the Nexus One.
MoDaCo Custom ROM for Nexus One is based on the 22607 release ROM and released (together with Paul’s own optimizations) for the best possible performance!
