LG Optimus 2X, the dual-core Android beast, will be receiving a Gingerbread update, probably in June or July. Currently, the Optimus 2X is on Froyo.
According to LG Denmark’s support site, the LG Optimus 2X will be getting the Gingerbread (Android 2.3) update sometime in June or July. No definite date yet.
Microsoft has been slowly unveiling details about its upcoming smartphone operating system, the Windows Mobile 7. Yesterday, it announced that all Microsoft employees will be getting free Windows Mobile 7 smartphones and today announced the names of the hardware partners which will be launching Windows Mobile 7 on their smartphone platforms.
LG, one of the few Korean multinational is todayâ€™s leading electronic product manufacturer. They have ventured into every domain of consumer electronics and now also taken the first steps in the world of smartphones. The company has launched an ambitious program for launching up to 20 Android phones in the year 2010.Following this goal, LG has today announced the release of two of its Android smartphones; LG Optimus Chic and LG Optimus One. Both the smartphones will be running Android 2.2 Froyo. The smartphone will be available in South Korea only, at least for a start.
The first Windows Phone 7 handset has been unveiled by Microsoft at The Engadget Show, and the first WinMo7 phone is by LG.
Windows Phone 7 Series was launched at Mobile World Congress 2010 last month in Barcelona in the presentation by Microsoft.
