On the same side, there is a long list of devices these folks are targetting from which you will be able to hack your PlayStation 3 without having to buy a $150 USB. iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch is in the list too!
Apple today released a patch (firmware update) iOS 4.0.2 to download which would fix the PDF exploit being used by JailbreakMe to jailbreak iOS 4.0.1 on iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G, iPod Touch 3G, 2G and iPad.
JailbreakMe is now not compatible with any of the above devices above, but you can still jailbreak iOS 4.0.2 on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G (non-MC model).
The event is over, and Apple has just released the iPhone OS 4.0 beta firmware for developers and this OS is available for iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 2G and iPod Touch 3G. OS 4.0 will be released for the iPad this Fall.
The latest iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 1 is build 8A230m. Remember, if you want a jailbroken device, then this update is not for you. You will have to wait for the dev team to release an OS 4.0 jailbreak.
Blacksn0w RC2, the unlock tool for iPhone 3.1.3 05.11.07 baseband has been released and now available for download from Cydia.
This is not the official tool, but an unofficial one released by Steve, the guy behind the PushFix 2.0 tool. Gehot is not the one to release this tool. Blacksn0w RC2 is a repackaged version of the original blacksn0w RC and the fix which was released two days back.
Blacksn0w download is now available which allows you to unlock iPhone 3.1.3 05.11.07 baseband.
iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS users have waited months for this patch to release and the fix is now available that you can use to unlock your phone.
Yesterday, I posted a tutorial on how to tether your iPhone on Ubuntu 9.10 using Bluetooth, and now I have another tutorial to tether iPhone using USB on Ubuntu Linux.
In this tutorial, we’ll be using an iPhone Ethernet driver written by Diego Giagio and several packages from Jonathan Beck’s PPA.
iPhone tethering on Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) is now possible! You can easily tether your iPhone 3G or 3GS running on iPhone 3.0 or 3.1.x firmware with your laptop/netbook running on Ubuntu 9.10.
If you’re running 3.0 then you can do this without jail breaking your phone by installing a modified carrier profile. However, if you’re on OS 3.1+ then you will need to jail break your phone to install the modified carrier profile.
Similarly, the iPhone Dev team is now back with their very own tool to jailbreak iPhone 3.1.2 – Redsn0w 0.9
Ultrasn0w 0.92 has just been released that fixes the carrier logo on unlocked iPhone 3.1.2 firmware.
Users who jailbroke their iPhone using PwnageTool 3.1.4 or later, must have noticed that the carrier name went missing after jailbreaking. This was a known bug and the Dev-Team has been quick enough to release a fix for that.
