So the rumours about HTC Droid Eris were really true, and it got more true after the leaked documents were posted by Engadget.
HTC Droid Eris is indeed coming on November 6, and will be the most affordable Android phone which is for only $99. It will be available in the US from less than a week.

I’m back with another HTC Hero tip. The last ones I shared were how to use HTC Hero as USB modem and how you can get Android 1.6 on Hero.
To install themes in HCT Hero, you don’t need t root your phone. THe method I’m going to tell works without any rooting required.
Android 2.0 Eclair for HTC Hero Confirmed
The rumours were already there that HTC Hero users might get an Android 2.0 Eclair update, and it has just been confirmed by HTC on Twitter that the rumours are true!
They are working on the neat Sense UI for Android 2.0 and will soon release the update. No dates have been mentioned. Just yesterday, I wrote about how to get Android 1.6 Donut on Hero, but looks like it won’t be needed any more.
HTC PC Suite for G1 and Hero

The only complain that Android OS users do is that there is no proper PC Suite or PC Software for Android phones. HTC Sync is available for HTC Android phones, but all it does is transfer .APK files or sync contacts.
HTC Phone Portal is a cool little phone manager app that works really well with HTC Hero and G1. It’s an app that runs a web server from your phone that you can access over Wifi from any browser on the same network.

Currently, HTC Hero is, no doubt, the most powerful and high-end Android device available in the market.
The last firmware update it got was sometime in early September 2009, but now when Google has announced Android 2.0 and most of the upcoming devices are based on it, Hero users are expecting Android 1.6 Donut on HTC Hero update.

My experience with HTC Hero has been great so far. I’ve been playing with it for a month now, trying out new applications and features to make it more productive and useful.
Out of 87 apps I have on my phone, around 35 apps are worth reviewing which I’ll be doing them all in the next few days. The one I’m going to do today is a metal detector app for Android phones.

I never thought setting up and connecting HTC Hero to be used as a USB modem with laptops would be this easy.
Just like all other phones out there, HTC Hero also lets you use it as a USB modem by tethering it with a PC and enjoy your 3G connection where internet isn’t available.
