Vulnerability Found In Firefox 3
Firefox 3 is now officially the most downloaded software in 24 hours. And since Tuesday, it has received over 12 million downloads. Firefox is the world’s most secure browser, but its first critical vulnerability was found just after 5 hours of its release. Even after working for so many months on this browser, it looks like they still missed some holes in the core.
Technical details of the vulnerability were not released to the public, and Zero Day Initiative (ZDI) states that they have reported it to the Mozilla team and they are now working on a patch, which will be out soon. They also said there are no known exploits at this time.

There is still an hour left before the Download Day finishes and Firefox 3 has already been downloaded over 7.4 million times (at the time of writing this post)! Firefox 3.1 Alpha (Shiretoko) Scheduled For Mid-July
Mozilla has just got over with the release of Firefox 3 today, and I don’t think the development team is going to take a break any where soon. They like keeping themselves busy. The alpha version of Firefox 4 on their FTP is no surprise to us. Now they’ve got themselves busy with Firefox 3.1 and are planning to release it in mid-July. Firefox 3.1 will be based on Gecko 1.9.1 and will be designed to bring to the table some of the features and functionality that were cut from Firefox 3.0.
Mozilla Firefox 3.0 Released – Download Now

Today is the day when Firefox 3, the much-awaited browser, will be finally released. The official release time is at 10.00 am PDT. Firefox 3 has already been uploaded at the Mozilla FTP, and can be downloaded from there before the announcement on their site. But if you download from the FTP, your download won’t be counted for the world record, which Mozilla will try to make in the next 24 hours. You can download Firefox 3 in all OS versions (Windows, Mac OS X and Linux) from the FTP.
More than 1.4 million users have already pledged to download Firefox 3 today, and I’m on of them too! This post will be updated as soon as Firefox 3 hits the main site and the download count starts on the Download Day 2008 site. Only 2 hours left! So keep checking back, and stay tuned!

Force Enable Incompatible Extensions In Firefox 3

Yesterday, I installed Firefox 3 RC3 and was amazed to see how fast and better my favourite browser has become. I actually use lots of addons with my Firefox 2, and I found that most of them were disabled after upgrading. That’s because they still haven’t been updated yet by their developers and Firefox 3 doesn’t even try to run addons that are not compatible. FEBE is one of the plugins that are not (see update below) compatible with Firefox 3 RC3.
How To Get Ctrl + Tab Feature In Firefox 3

Now you can add tab-switching feature in Firefox 3, which is just like the Window switching (Alt + Tab) feature in most Operating Systems. Ctrl – Tab is an extension which does this job very efficiently and switching tabs in Firefox was never this much fun. This is a visual tab switching addon and can switch tabs just like pressing Alt + Tab in Windows. It shows thumbnails of websites that are opened in your tabs.
The order of visual preview tabs depend on their use in Firefox, and you can switch between tabs by releasing Tab and pressing it again to move to the next preview (Ctrl should be kept pressed). Or if you would like to quickly go through it, keep holding the Tab and Ctrl keys.
