Dell Streak 5, the first phone-tablet from Dell made its way to me so I decided to write a quick review about the device. Streak 5 was an experiment by Dell to see how people respond to a tablet-cum-phone device.
It features a 5.0-inch gorilla glass display screen with a 1 GHz Scorpion processor under the hood, and features 512MB of RAM. Dell Streak is powered by Froyo (Android 2.2.2) and was actually the first ever device to feature the gorilla glass screen. We did some pretty interesting gorilla glass test. You can catch them in the videos after the jump.
Dell recently introduced the all new Dell Streak 7, which is a successor to the previous tablet from Dell, the Dell Streak. This tablet goes head to head with the other tablets of its generation, the iPad, Galaxy Tab etc.
Dell Streak 7 has been extensively reviewed by Ubergizmo explaining design, display, performance and many other factors of the device.
Remember the awesome Windows Phone 7 we reviewed last month? Yes, the Dell Venue Pro. It’s finally going to be launched in two weeks.
Almost all the devices showcased at Windows Phone 7’s launch has been released and are available for purchase, but Dell Venue Pro – one of the most hyped WP7 device – disappeared with no news of coming out.
Dell Streak is soon going to get the Android 2.2 Froyo update. Previously, it was on Android 1.6 which was very slow and looked bloated. But luckily, Dell decided to get their Streak some Froyo love.
Android 2.2 update for Dell Streak will start rolling out in a couple of weeks and UK users will be the first ones to get it.
At the Dell evening in Singapore, Dell laptops and Streak were not the only thing under the spotlight. There was something else also that caught every blogger’s attention on that evening – the Dell Venue Pro.

For the past few days, we had been posting about a Dell Media Event which was going to be held in Singapore. I was one of the attendees there and Dell made sure it turns out to be an unforgettable experience for all the techies, bloggers and media there.
The event was held at an apartment near the Scotts Road where bloggers and media were invited from the neighboring countries. I went all the way from Pakistan to Singapore to attend this Dell event.
Like I posted once before, Dell is going to have a Penthouse Media Event in Singapore and will showcase various Dell products – released and unreleased there. This event is to be held on October 22, 2010.

They will be showcasing several laptops i.e Dell Inspiron R, Dell XPS Series, AlienwareM11x, desktops include Alienware Aurora ALX Desktop and Dell Inspiron All-In-One, and will also have Dell Streak and the just announced, Dell Venue Pro (Lightning), powered by Windows Phone 7.
Most of you know that Dell Streak was launched with outdated Android 1.6 OS. And after the launch, everyone speculated that Android 2.1 Eclair update will soon hit the device. Well, there is good news for all Dell Streak owners. A wave of rumors suggests that Android 2.1 Éclair update for O2 UK version of Dell Streak has been released. This might suggest that Dell is already working on the update which can hit Dell Streak users anytime.
