Picjuice: Quick Online Photo Editor
Picjuice is a web application that allows you to quickly edit your photos. It is powered by Google App Engine, and offers all the standard editing options like crop, resize, flip, rotate, and adjust. The best advantage I saw of this tool was that we don’t need to install any hectic softwares, just for to make small changes to our photos. The only requirement I see is an Internet connection, rest it does not require any addons to work.

BitLet: Web-Based BitTorrent Downloader

BitLet is web 2.0-based Java applet, that lets you download torrent files on a computer that doesn’t have a BitTorrent client installed. All you have to do is enter the URL of .torrent file, and press the Download torrent button! A new popup window will show your downloading progress and will ask you where to save the file. It uses your browser as a torrent client and downloads files just as a dektop BitTorrent client does.
Twitabit When Twitter Goes Down

Twitter has improved their service a lot by decreasing the number of downtimes it had, but still, it has dowtimes occasionally. And if you are ever stuck with a Twitter downtime, and want to tweet about something badly, all you have to do is wait. But this is where Twitabit comes to rescue! It has been developed for those who can’t wait for Twitter to get back.

Reddit Goes Open Source, Says Thanks To Everyone

A popular social news site and an early Digg competitor, Reddit, has gone open-source today. They announced a day before that they have an announcement to make tomorrow, and the invite page had an image of a penguin which meant that the announcement was something related to to Linux or open source. The next day they released their own code to the public and now you can also build a site like Reddit.
Google Docs: Upload & Share PDF Files
Google has finally added the much-requested feature in Google Docs, PDF documents support. Just a few days ago, Google announced that soon users will be able to upload, read and share PDF documents in Google Docs, and lo! It’s here! But the bad part is, you can only upload, read and share PDF documents. I mean, editing PDF files is not yet supported by Google Docs, and is expected to be added later.
Uploading a PDF document is simple as cake (they don’t offer anything to eat, though!). Just go to the Google Docs homepage, and click Upload. The maximum size you can upload from your computer is 10MB and and from web URL is 2MB.
Show Twitter Followers Count With TwitterCounter
TwitterCounter is a service that can show your Twitter follower count in a small chicklet like FeedBurner. It is targeted towards towards bloggers, social networkers and other well connected individuals to communicate and track the number of followers they have on Twitter. This service allows you to create a badge (aka chicklet) and put it on your blog, or site which will show the number of Twitter followers you have.
This is not all, you also get stats graph which shows you the number of followers for the last 7 days. All you have to do is, put in your Twitter username on the site, and copy/paste the generated HTML code where ever you want your badge to display. TwitterCounter badge is exactly the same as FeedBurner’s chicklet. The only difference I see is the colour scheme which matches that of Twitter.
MySpace Is Getting Redesigned Layout
MySpace is one of the ugliest, and for some reason, the most popular social networks nowadays. The irony about this is that a bad and a cluttered site design should inhibit user experience, yet this does not affect it in any way. Myspace, a Los Angles based social network, now joined with Facebook will be redesigning its site next week. The first phase will launch on Wednesday June 18.
Five major areas of the site will come under this redesigning: homepage, navigation, profile editor, search and the MySpaceTV Flash player. I have been able to get some images (below) of the new design, courtesy of TechCrunch.
YouTube Adds Video Annotations And Gets Interactive
by Haris on June 6, 2008
in Internet, Social Networks, Web 2.0
YouTube has recently added a new feature called Video Annotations, which allow users to make more interactive videos using annotations and bubble messages. You can now add interactive comment boxes, messages, text in bubbles, links to related videos, channels and search results of YouTube content.

Flickr users must be already familiar with this feature as Flickr allows you to add annotations to the photos we upload, but at YouTube we deal with videos, not photos. So it’s way more fun to do in YouTube. Users will have full control over the annotations and the way in which they display in the videos. They are very easy to customize. You can change the size, location on the screen, and location in the video. You can also adjust how long they stay on the screen. And if you don’t want any distractions during the video, you can turn this feature off from the player menu.
