Last month, Emaar Properties unveiled a world-class permanent water fountain project with an integral light and sound show for Downtown Burj Dubai. It will be the world’s largest fountain at over 900 ft (275 metres) in length, equivalent to that of over two football fields and it is about 25 per cent larger than The Fountains at Bellagio in Las Vegas in area. Powerful water nozzles will shoot water sprays to heights of over 500 ft (150 metres), equivalent to that of a 50-story building.

The fountains – which are yet to be named – will feature over 6,600 lights and 50 colour projectors that will create a vibrant visual spectrum of over 1,000 different water expressions by shooting 22,000 gallons of water. The total cost to built this is AED 800 million (US$218 million)! This project is expected to draw over 10 million visitors annually.

The fountain on Burj Dubai Lake is more than a visual spectacle that adds to the aesthetics of Downtown Burj Dubai. It is an engineering marvel and will further contribute to Dubai’s rich array of tourist attractions.

The fountain is positioned next to Burj Dubai, the world’s tallest building, and The Dubai Mall, one of the world’s largest shopping and entertainment destinations. As I have said before, these fountains are yet to be named, and a cash prize of $27,225 will be given to the person who suggests the perfect name for this water fountain project.

This fountain project is scheduled to be operational in 2009!

This new shell replaces your entire exterior of Xbox 360 to produce a creepy-ish green-glowing effect in a dark room. Dubai, also known as, the City of Dreams, has always attracted business oriented people, but now they are attracting people for residence too! They are on their way to create a mini-universe of their own. The future is near.. Hahaha :)

I remember, when I was in Dubai, in 1999 (not sure), an artist designed a poster that had an envisioned image of Dubai in 2050. You can check it out below:

Plot Outline: Diego, Manny and Sid return in this sequel to the hit Ice Age. This time around the Ice Age is over and is starting to melt, which will destroy their valley. So they must unite and warn everyone about the situation.

3. The Lion King

Year of Release: 1994

Plot Outline: Tricked into thinking he killed his father, a guilt ridden lion cub flees into exile and abandons his identity as the future King.

Fact: It has won 2 Oscars.

2. Finding Nemo

Year of Release: 2003

Plot Outline: A father-son underwater adventure featuring Nemo, a boy clownfish, stolen from his coral reef home. His timid father must then travel to Sydney, and search Sydney Harbour find Nemo.

Fact: It has won an Oscar.

Plot Outline: Princess Fiona’s parents invite her and Shrek to dinner to celebrate her marriage. If only they knew the newlyweds were both ogres.

Fact: It was nominated for 2 Oscars, but sadly didn’t won any. But has won 13 other awards.

Harry Potter! Harry Potter! This is what you hear every where :) . So, did you liked the book. Well, I think it was awesome! :DBelow are some of the spells that I liked in Harry Potter series.

Anapneo: Helps in breathing, when the windpipe is choked by something.

Aparecium: It makes the writing done in invisible ink, visible.

Avada Kedavra: A very powerful spell that kills the enemy instantly without leaving any mark on the busy. It’s an unforgivable spell. The one who casts the spell will be imprisoned in Azkaban.

Crucio: A torturing spell. The person who whom the spell is casted, suffers through severe pain and go mad with it.

Diffindo: It splits and object into two.

Engorgio: It enlarges the target.

Expecto Patronum: It forms a protective shield that is caused by remembering some very pleasant memories of the past. It’s helpful in turning away the dementors.

Impedimenta: Used to stop or slow down a person or a creature.

Serpensortia: It produces a huge snake from the end of the wizard’s wand.

Wingardium Leviosa: It raises an object in the air.

You can find out the age of your friend without being told by asking him to play a simple mathematical game and ask him to carry out the following instructions in the given order.

1. Write down your age
2. Add 5 to it.
3. Double the result. 
4. Add 10 to it.
5. Multiply theresult by 5.
6. Subtract 100 from it.

Get the final result from your friend and cross out the last digit to obtain your friend’s age. Try this mathematical game with different people.

I got found this trick in a Mathematics book of Grade 8 :P

The PlayStation platform continues to evolve both in software and firmware revisions, noted Phil Harrison, president of Sony’s worldwide studios, in an interview with gaming publication 1UP. Even during the heyday of the earlier console, the PS2, Sony noted that the platform would be destined for more than gaming.

The inclusion of a hard drive in the PS3 is part of a larger strategy to boost the PlayStation’s presence as an entertainment hardware device, rather than just a game machine. Harrison noted that, in the future, it is possible that the PS3′s hard drive capacity will be increased to take advantage of digital downloads and offer more storage options. The 10-year plan, he added, includes not only games but also other forms of content, such as movies and TV shows.

Although he did not state when the download service might be available, Harrison noted in the interview with 1UP that the PS3 has a hard drive and e-commerce capabilities, and that it “doesn’t take a rocket scientist” to figure out that the two will come together soon.

Xbox

360 Showdown

In creating a movie and music download service, Sony will be putting itself in competition most directly with Microsoft, which launched a similar service last November. Called Xbox Live Video Marketplace, the Microsoft download service allows Xbox 360 Premium owners to buy movies and TV shows.

The strategy was applauded by some analysts, with a report from research firm Emerging Media Dynamics estimating that the service would generate up to $92 million for Microsoft in 2007, and possibly up to $762 million by 2011.

Creating more demand for the PS3 could help to soften Sony’s losses as well. Some analysts have estimated that Sony is losing money on every PS3 sold, as consumers buy more Xbox and Wii consoles.

Competitive Advantage

The move to integrate movie downloads with its console is not surprising, given the arms race mentality that has been rampant in the gaming scene for the past year, noted Forrester Research analyst Paul Jackson.

“When you have Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony all competing against each other for the same audience, you’re going to see the rollout of new games, new features, and different services,” he said.

Currently, Nintendo seems to be winning the battle, Jackson noted, although it is much too early to declare it the wartime victor. Nintendo has shown an advantage by having a lower-priced console and hardware that is easier for developers to use, said Jackson, which increases the number of games available.

“Conversely, Sony is having a hard time, and there’s been some bashing of the PS3 among gamers,” Jackson noted. “Sony has been kind of standoffish, some may say arrogant, and now they’re finally acknowledging that they’ve made some mistakes, and there are some new directions they need to go.”
