The Internet’s Undersea World
Ever wondered how long cables are used for this Internet to work? We all know that we are connected to each other thanks to telephone lines or Internet cables, but never cared to find out how and where do these cables lie. Recently, I got a forwarded mail from my friend which had a picture showing what cables lie on this Earth land that makes it possible to connect to the Internet. That picture was titled as “The Internet’s Undersea World” and can be seen below.
World’s Largest Fountain Building In Dubai

Last month, Emaar Properties unveiled a world-class permanent water fountain project with an integral light and sound show for Downtown Burj Dubai. It will be the world’s largest fountain at over 900 ft (275 metres) in length, equivalent to that of over two football fields and it is about 25 per cent larger than The Fountains at Bellagio in Las Vegas in area. Powerful water nozzles will shoot water sprays to heights of over 500 ft (150 metres), equivalent to that of a 50-story building.
The fountains – which are yet to be named – will feature over 6,600 lights and 50 colour projectors that will create a vibrant visual spectrum of over 1,000 different water expressions by shooting 22,000 gallons of water. The total cost to built this is AED 800 million (US$218 million)! This project is expected to draw over 10 million visitors annually.
From the press-release:
The fountain on Burj Dubai Lake is more than a visual spectacle that adds to the aesthetics of Downtown Burj Dubai. It is an engineering marvel and will further contribute to Dubai’s rich array of tourist attractions.
The fountain is positioned next to Burj Dubai, the world’s tallest building, and The Dubai Mall, one of the world’s largest shopping and entertainment destinations. As I have said before, these fountains are yet to be named, and a cash prize of $27,225 will be given to the person who suggests the perfect name for this water fountain project.
This fountain project is scheduled to be operational in 2009!

Photo: First Signs Of Geekiness
I had a very tiring day today, and currently, it’s 5AM in the morning and I still haven’t got any sleep. I thought a bit of humour would make things better :) Ever wondered what are the first signs of computer geekiness? Well, I guess the photo below will explain everything.

Glow In The Dark Xbox 360

XCM has developed a replacement shell for Xbox 360, which actually glow green when lights go out. This new shell replaces your entire exterior of Xbox 360 to produce a creepy-ish green-glowing effect in a dark room. And as this shell is partially transparent, you can even see what’s inside your Xbox 360 (screenshots below).
Humour: This Is How Business Is Done
How about starting the new week with a laugh? :) I got a funny scrap in my Orkut scrapbook today. Thought I would share it with you all.
Starring: Father, son, President of World Bank and Bill Gates
Father: I want you to marry a girl of my choice.
Son: “I will choose my own bride!”
Father: “But the girl is Bill Gates’s daughter.”
Son: “Well, in that case… Ok!”
Next, Father approaches Bill Gates.
Batman: The Dark Knight Teasers
I just saw the new Batman teaser… The movie looks cool.
