Facebook Themes For Download

in Firefox, Internet, Social Networks, Tips and Tricks
I hope you all enjoyed the second wave of Orkut themes. If Orkut users can get third-party themes, then why can’t Facebook users? I’ve compiled a list of the best Facebook themes currently available for download on the Internet. The life-span of these themes is not much as Facebook keeps changing their code. The themes given below have been hand-picked by me and were all working fine. They are also being regularly updated by the original designers.
Requirements
There are two basic requirements before you can use the themes.
- Mozilla Firefox (Download it from here!)
- Greasemonkey/Stylish add-on for Firefox

Orkut For Low Bandwidth Users
by Haris on May 21, 2008
in Internet, Social Networks, Tips and Tricks
Orkut has a very nice feature for all the users who are bandwidth concious. If you have limited bandwidth and are addicted to Orkut, you can save a lot of your bandwidth by using Orkut in the low bandwidth mode. Since the biggest thing in size on a web-page are the images, they eat a lot of bandwidth but, this can be prevented thanks to a built-in feature by Orkut. After activating, it will remove all the unwanted images from the Friends Updates, Friend’s List and Communities and show only text
Del.icio.us Bookmarks Plugin For Internet Explorer

in Freewares, Internet, Social Networks, Yahoo
Yahoo has recently released a beta version of their browser plugin, of a popular social-bookmarking service, Del.icio.us. Two weeks ago, Del.icio.us came out with a Firefox plugin to make bookmarking easier for its users. And the new one is no different than the Firefox version.
If you’ve already used the Del.icio.us plugin for Firefox, then this IE plugin does not offer anything new. Here’s a list of what you get to do with the plugin.
How To Batch Download From YouTube
by Haris on May 14, 2008
in Freewares, Internet, Social Networks, Softwares, Tips and Tricks
Can this get any better for YouTube addicts? Now you can download multiple videos from YouTube at once and while downloading, you can even convert them to any format. This application can download videos from any YouTube page, or from individual channels, playlists, favourites, users and group pages.
This batch downloader works only on pages with more than one YouTube video. But remember, it won’t work on the Search page. May be we’ll get this feature in the future releases, but at the moment, it doesn’t work. The Download button activates on selected pages only.

How To Batch Download YouTube Videos
In order to download videos using YouTube Batch Downloader, open the page contaning videos or video links, and press the Downlaod button. Your videoes will start downloading instantly.
Where Are the Videos Saved
Wondering, where did all the downloaded videos go? No, they didn’t got lost. You can find them at My DocumentsMy YouTube folder. They are sorted by YouTube publisher usernames.
No Pause Or Stop Feature
The only thing I didn’t like about this tool is that it does not have button, or option to stop or pause downloading videos. There is no way this can be done unless you close the application itself.

UPDATE (June 9, 2008): You all must be waiting for my reply… Sorry, to make you wait, friends. A few days ago, these themes stopped working, and I was testing them if any of them could work in any way. But unfortunately, these themes are not compatible with the latest changes in Orkut. A new set of compatible and working Orkut themes will be posted by tomorrow. Keep checking back!
Sizzled Core Facebook Application
by Haris on May 6, 2008
in Announcements, Internet, Personal, Social Networks, Tips and Tricks
Hey friends! I have made my first Facebook application. Now all the Facebook addicts can add this blog’s feed and read all the latest articles right from their profile using the Sizzled Core RSS Feed application.
I was really impressed by TechnologyBites for making a RSS feed application using the tutorial by HowToForge. So using that tutorial, I started working on my own and in 3 hours of playing with that ‘developer’ stuff, I finally completed my app.

Google Talk In Orkut
by Haris on May 3, 2008
in Google, Social Networks, Tips and Tricks
Isn’t it nice to chat with your buddies while you find and make new friends on Orkut? It’s about time I last posted about a Greasemonkey script.
I don’t think Greasemonkey needs any introduction. I have a habit to go through the GM scripts site after every few days and look for new and interesting scripts.
I’m not much a fan of Orkut, the social-networking daddy. But I do like using Facebook, since all my old mates and buddies are there. The script today I found is for Orkut, and with this, you can integrate Google Talk in your Orkut’s main page! Chat junkies are definitely going to live this! Now you don’t have to leave your browser anymore to chat with your friends.
Diwali Theme for Orkut
by Haris on November 22, 2007
in Design, Internet, Social Networks, Tips and Tricks

I know Diwali was on Nov 9, and this post should have been made earlier this month. But Orkut already had a cool theme for this occasion. That theme was still available to be used a few days back, but it has been removed now.
Many people liked the theme, and wanted it to stay, but Orkut didn’t noticed this and removed it. But no worries folks! A guy called Mr. Nobody has made the same theme as a Greasemonkey script for Firefox users. Now you can enjoy the theme for as long as you want :)

Sorry to disappoint you guys, but I won’t be able to review Yahoo! Mash. I have high fever, soar throat and cold. :( Don’t worry, I won’t leave you thirsty… I’ll give a sneak peak of what Yahoo Mash is.
