Microsoft Buys Skype for $8.5 Billion

Microsoft has just bought Skype for a whopping $8.5 billion! This is not just based on rumours. WSJ and AllThingsD have confirmed that the acquisition deal has been made, and official announcement will follow tomorrow morning.
Talks to buy Skype has been rumoured a number of times, but this time it is confirmed that Microsoft has bought Skype. Facebook was also in line to get Skype, but Microsoft got away with the Skype, thanks to such a high bid.

Office 15 Screenshots & Videos Leaked
Microsoft Office 15 is the next major update to the office suite of applications from Microsoft.
A number of leaks have happened in the past few days. Two leaks of Windows 8 images and now Office 15 screenshots have leaked.
The new Microsoft Office 15 screenshots show an updated ribbon interface, but does not have the ‘Metro’ UI that everyone is talking about, plus it is expected that Microsoft will be using its Metro UI in all its products, including Windows 8.

IE9 Release Date Confirmed for March 14th
Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) release date is March 14th. Confirmed, this time! Last month, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer hinted that the next major release of their browser, Internet Explorer 9, will be releasing on March 14th and they have confirmed it now!

Microsoft is busy with the next major operating system release – Windows 8 – which is to be out in 2012. Today, a Chinese site Win7China got hold some new information about what new features Microsoft will include in Windows 8.
Along with the new features, the site also included a Windows 8 screenshot of Windows Live ID login.
Internet Explorer 9 Release Date
Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) is coming – next month or so. Microsoft CEO, Steve Ballmer, announced this at a recent developers day at Microsoft Switzerland.
He also talked about the Internet Explorer 9 for Windows Phone 7 that is supposed to release with a WP7 update codenamed “Mango’, and will be available later this year.

Windows Phone 7 has just released and the developers are already working hard to jailbreak Windows Phone 7 and run unmanaged native code. Jailbreaking Windows Phone 7 is coming soon.
A user on XDA Developers was able to find out that accessing “Microsoft.Phone.InteropServices” DLL in WP7, it could give you access to native code and can side-load applications.
