At the recent Ubuntu Developer’s Summit, Ubuntu announced its planned to include an App Center officially in its OS which will allow users to easily manage applications using that.
Now known as, Software Store, will let you add, remove or update application packages from a simple graphical interface without messing up with commands.
Chrome hits Mac OS X and Linux
Google announced yesterday, about the availability of it’s web browser, Chrome, for Mac OS X and Linux. It is the first official developer release of Chrome and is just for testing purposes for now.
Chrome was initially released for Windows back in September last year, and at that time Google promised a Mac and Linux version later.
Ubuntu 9.10 will be called Karmic Koala
Mark Shuttleworth, the founder of the largest open-source operating system, Linux, announced a couple of days ago about Ubuntu 9.10 (named as Karmic Koala) and the number of changes Ubuntu 9.10 will bring with it.
Some features that are expected in Karmic Koala are the cloud capabilities to Ubuntu’s server edition, along with startup performance boost on the desktop and work on the netbook version of Ubuntu.

After six months under development, Ubuntu is back with the latest release Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex. It’s finally available for download today. This includes a number of bug fixes and improvements.
Ubuntu 8.10 features the latest GNOME 2.24 and a Linux Kernel 2.6.27, along with full 3G support and many open-source applications. It is available in both, Desktop Edition and Server Edition.
