Track Open Gmail Sessions And Remotely Sign Out
July 09, 2008 - Haris
Gmail team recently introduced 13 new features as Gmail Labs in Gmail, and yesterday they introduced another security and privacy feature which allows you to track your open Gmail sessions and remotely close them.
For instance, if you are at office checking your Gmail account, and urgently have to go out. You forgot to close your Gmail account and fear someone might read your private mails. Now you can remotely sign out from all your Gmail sessions, no matter how many computers it has been opened on including mobile devices.
Gmail Labs: Experimental Features Now Live
June 07, 2008 - HarisGmail team is always on one thing or the other. Yesterday, they rolled out Gmail Labs, a portal for all the upcoming and experimental Gmail features. These experimental features are developed by the Google employees as their personal projects for Gmail. With Gmai Labs, you can browse and try all the upcoming Gmail features that are still in development. Google engineers created these features for Gmail in their 20% time. So some of the features are not completely stable and need some more work.
Better Gmail 2 Gets New Features
May 23, 2008 - HarisGina Trapani, of Lifehacker, has released an updated version of her popular Gmail customization addon, Better Gmail 2. This addon is a combination of dozens of Greasemonkey scripts and with this, you can tweak the heck out of the new Gmail interface. This add-on is one of my personal favourites.
The latest version, Better Gmail 2 0.4 now supports HTML signatures, Firefox 3 compatibility, Gmail Redesigned skin, and many other small fixes. After you install this add-on, you can enable what ever features you want in Gmail from the Firefox Tools menu and all you have to do is refresh your Gmail window for the changes to take effect.
Gmail Might Get Themes
May 19, 2008 - HarisGmail themes are not a new thing to users, who are using already skinning their Gmail using third-party tools like Greasemonkey, GMail Skins (Firefox add-on), custom user stylesheets etc. But officially, you can only change Gmail views like mobile, HTML (for slow connections), Standard View or Standard View without Google Talk gadget.
Faster Gmail For Slow Connection Users
May 17, 2008 - HarisIf you haven’t noticed, Gmail has rolled out new improvements today, to their Loading interface while signing in for Gmail. It now has a new loading screen with a loading bar that shows the progress of how much Gmail has been loaded and an option to load your Inbox in basic HTML.
Dial-up users or slow connection users can click the link Load Basic HTML while Gmail loads and it will open much faster than before. You won’t the usual Ajax-powered Gmail, but still, you can at least check your mails if you are in a hurry.
