MySpace Is Getting Redesigned Layout
MySpace is one of the ugliest, and for some reason, the most popular social networks nowadays. The irony about this is that a bad and a cluttered site design should inhibit user experience, yet this does not affect it in any way. Myspace, a Los Angles based social network, now joined with Facebook will be redesigning its site next week. The first phase will launch on Wednesday June 18.
Five major areas of the site will come under this redesigning: homepage, navigation, profile editor, search and the MySpaceTV Flash player. I have been able to get some images (below) of the new design, courtesy of TechCrunch.
Opera 9.5 Released: Browser War Heating Up
First, I would like to apologize for no posts yesterday and the number of downtimes this blog faced. My article Amazing Future Projects Of Dubai got on Digg’s frontpage yesterday, and due to this my host could not handle the traffic flood. The Digg effect has cooled down now, so regular posts will continue back from today. And yes, no more downtimes or those stupid excessive CPU usage messages!
Just two days after the release of Opera 9.5 RC, they are out with the final release of Opera 9.5. After months of beta testing, the final version is much faster and cooler than the previous ones. It also has a new metallic default theme. The most recently added feature is Opera Link, that helps you synchronize your bookmarks between Opera Mini and Opera 9.5 desktop.

DashPress: WordPress Theme Under Development
On WordPress’ birthday, I published a screenshot of my upcoming WordPress theme, which will be based on the new Dashboard theme of WordPress. I’m actually a big WordPress fan, and wanted to use a theme like the dashboard. But unfortunately, I didn’t found any and ended up in making one my own. The theme is very simple and clear in design and offers fresh colours that don’t go hard on eyes. Since the past few days, lots of changes have been made in it. I’m still experimenting with better fonts to match it exactly with the default Dashboard theme.
I’ve decided to name it DashPress (Dash for Dashboard, and Press for WordPress) after much brainstorming. I’ll be releasing it in a couple of weeks (or may be earlier) since I’ve got lots of other work to do as well these days. I’d suggest you to subscribe to my RSS feed to know about the latest updates on the theme.
I’ve set up a demo site for everyone to test and see what the theme will be like and let me know what you think about it. This will be my very first theme, and will be my first attempt to come out with something like this using CSS. I used trial and error method to make this theme. I’m still trying to fix as many bugs as I can. Any help, suggestions or feedback would be highly appreciated.

Get Auto Reply Feature In Windows Live Messenger
by Haris on June 12, 2008
in Freewares, General, Softwares, Tips and Tricks
Windows Live Messenger Auto-Reply is a small freeware that allows you to add Auto Reply feature in your Windows Live Messenger (WLM). This is really handy when someone tries to contact you while you are away from your computer and you are signed in your WLM. An auto reply message is automatically sent to who ever contacts you while your status is other than online.
Auto reply messages can be customized to whatever you want to write. You can set auto reply messages with very simple verbiage, like: “I’m currently away from my computer but I will get back to you as soon as possible”.
How To Get Opera Speed Dial In Firefox
by Haris on June 11, 2008
in Firefox, General, Tips and Tricks
Back in April 2007, Opera released Opera 9.2 which had a very interesting feature called Speed Dial. It lets you visit your favourite and most websites quickly from a grid of 9 thumbnails and opens up whenever you open a new tab or window. Many people wanted Mozilla to add this feature in Firefox 3, but wasn’t due to some reasons. There is no need to get disappointed, because now you can add the same feature in Firefox also.
FeedBurner Is Getting New Home
FeedBurner announced back in April, that all FeedBurner users will be migrated to Google Accounts. But the interesting part is, that Google will no longer use feedburner.com as their home or in the feed URLs. Their new home will be feedburner.google.com, a site that announces you can use FeedBurner to “analyze, publicize, optimize, and monetize your feeds”. At the moment, you can’t login or create new accounts at the new home, but this will start working once the migration process gets started.
Opera 9.5 Release Candidate Released
Opera has announced that they will soon be releasing the final version of Opera 9.5. Yesterday, they released the release candidate (RC) version of Opera 9.5, which follows after the snapshot release which took place a few days ago. Just a reminder to all Opera fans, a new default skin was added in the snapshot release (image above) and will be available in all the further versions. This new Opera is going to be in with competition with Firefox 3 and Internet Explorer 8.
Opera 9.5 has been in beta stages for several months now, but with the release candidate release, things look much better now. Several new features have been added, and many bugs have been fixed. Here’s what Opera team had to say on this release:
