I hope it’s released soon, and not held back as in the case with the PS3 3.56 firmware jailbreak.

Just over a week ago PlayStation 3 hacker Mathieulh confirmed finding a PS3 3.56 Exploit, and today drizzthacks tweeted part of an IRC chat log where Mathieulh stated the following regarding PS3 Firmware 3.60 running homebrew code, as follows:

“[03:15] while you are insulting me like morons, I already have code running on 3.60, and I am laugh
ing, and guess what ? I am happy I stopped sharing, you can hate me for it, I don’t care.”

On IRC, Mathieulh also posted a video of his own but then privatized it currently rendering it unavailable:

Shortly following, another PS3 3.60 JailBreak video was posted followed by the user removing it

The video shows a package installing and the new online save function, which was added in PlayStation 3 Firmware 3.60.

Time will tell, but my feeling from the videos and the tweeting… this may be the real deal.

There is also a video proof available to show that the PS3 firmware 3.60 has been jailbroken, indeed!

Minecraft for (iPhone, iPod, iPad) iOS and Android devices will be coming later this year. A number of clones are already available, but this time the official game is in works and will be released this year.

Mojang founder Markus ‘Notch’ Persson explained that the iOS version won’t get all the updates as the original version, but will only get the features which “make sense” for the touch-screen devices.

This is all the information we have on the Minecraft for iPhone port. No word on the exact date or price.

Sony released an official PS3 firmware update v3.56 yesterday, which brought fixes to the previous jailbreak holes.

The new PS3 update 3.56 was jailbroken within hours of its release i.e yes, jailbreak PS3 firmware 3.56 is still possible on the new official update.

Sony will probably release another new update, PS3 firmware 3.57, in the coming few days to patch this new jailbreak hole as well.

It’s not yet known if you can still play online with the new PS3 firmware 3.56 jailbreak or not. Atleast, we would not recommend you to give it a try and check!

Yes, you see it right! That is Sony’s next-generation PlayStation Portable, codenamed as NGP.

This new hand-held gaming device will revolve around five key concepts: Revolutionary User Interface, Social Connectivity, Location-based Entertainment, Converging Real and Virtual Reality. Rumours had that Sony will be unveiling the new PSP sometime soon, but they finally did it today in Japan.

How to Jailbreak/Hack PS3 with Nexus One

You can follow the step-by-step tutorial below to jailbreak your PS3. Remember, this is only for rooted Nexus One and HTC Desire. See: How to Root Nexus One

1. Download the package, extract it.
2. Extract N1-CM6-PSFreedom.tar.gz and copy the contents to your SD card.
3. Copy PS3-signed.zip and PS3-No-More-signed.zip to the root of your SD card (not in any directory).
4. Reboot your phone to recovery mode by powering on while pressing the ‘Home’ trackball.
5. Recommended: Create a Nandroid backup, if you have a custom recovery on your Nexus One (How To Install).
6. Install/flash PS3-signed.zip.
7. Reboot your phone.
8. Use ConnectBot or any terminal app and type:
   • cd /mnt/sdcard
   • su
   • insmod psfreedom.ko
9. Kill the power to your PS3, switch on the back (PS3 Fat) or unplug from the wall (PS3 Slim), and connect your phone via USB.
10. Re-enable power and press the PS3 power button followed by the eject button in quick succession.
11. Your PS3 is now hacked! You’ll see “Install Package Files” under GAME on the XMB.
12. To return your phone to normal just boot back to recovery and flash PS3-No-More-signed.zip.

• This will disable wi-fi untill the original boot.img is flashed back.
• This will also disable USB mass storage.

There is 99 percent chances that Sony will NOT announce the PSP2 at E3 this year. PSP2 is expected to ship early next year. Several specs have been leaked which may make it to the Sony PSP2.

PSP2 Specifications

The PSP2 specs that have been found so far which would be making it to the final product are as follows:

• Dual cameras
• Touchscreen display with physical standard controls
• No physical media like the PSP Go.
• Probably will come with 3G.
• Will be powered by a four-core processor! That is half of what PS3 is powered by!

PSP2 Release Date

There are several speculations of when the PSP2 will start shipping. If the games are aimed for the end of 2010, then PSP2 is expected in early 2011 – probably at Gamescom or TGS.

This long stick-shaped motion controller has been named PlayStation Move, which brings all the rumours of it being called the Arch (or previously known as PlayStation Motion Controller) to an end.

The announcement was made during Sony’s Game Developers Conference event yesterday. Several games were also demoed that you will be able to play with the PlayStation Move.

PlayStation Move is Sony’s answer to the Xbox Project Natal and Nintendo Wii and boy, the device looks amazing!

This device will be sold in several bundles/packages. There will be a “Starter Kit” which will include the Move, PlayStation Eye (camera) and a game which is expected to go on shelves at less than $100. Or it would be sold as a standalone device – cost of which is still unknown and could be sold bundled with the PlayStation 3 console too.

Sony also unveiled a wireless “PlayStation Move Sub-Controller” featuring an analog stick which will support Move in games. This is similar to that of Nintendo Wii’s Nunchuk.

Some of the games demoed at the Game Developers Conference were Sports Champions, Move Party and SOCOM 4 will be fully playable with the PlayStation Move and its Sub-Controller.

Ubisoft is offering Assassin’s Creed II Multiplayer for FREE for the next 48 hours to everyone who wishes to download it for their iPhone or iPod Touch.

A developer “Thunderbird2k” has worked on the port of Quake 3 to Android devices by the name of “kwaak3” and AndroidandMe has demonstrated it running on Motorola Droid. On the project website, you can find complete details of this project and how you can run this game on your Android phone.

Quake 3 requires Android 1.6 or higher to run. Check the project site for details.

How to Download Heavy Rain Demo (PS3)

Just follow the steps to download and play the Heavy Rain Demo on PS3.

1. Click here and log in (or register if you don’t have an account).

2. After signing in, click Continue.

3. Then choose the four pieces of evidence, whhich are:

• The short cigarette butt from the cigarette butts
• The odd right hand driver picture from the tire tracks
• The diner with a Sphinx picture on it
• The Origami Bird

4. After choosing, you will be given the promo code.

The demo is 2GB in size, means it will take a lot of space on your PS3 hard drive.

Odroid is the first gaming device that runs on Android, specially for games that are available in the Android Market for Android phones.

It is based on a Samsung-manufactured application processor called S5PC100 833MHz. The system-on-chip(SoC) uses the latest ARM’s Cortex-A8 with NEON multimedia accelerator. The chip’s 3D OpenGl ES capability enables high speed 3D games such as Speed Forge 3D.

Odroid Specifications

The Odroid specifications are as follows:

• a 3.5-inch 320×480 capacitive touch screen
• Wi-Fi,
• Bluetooth
• a microSD slot
• HDMI output

The developer edition of Odroid will cost around $349 (£210).

I would go for this device only if Android offers some decent games. I don’t want to get this console just for playing Snakes.

This PlayStation 3 update is the next in line after the previous PS3 firmware 3.10 which brought Facebook integration to the console.

PSP Minis are small downloadable games originally designed for the PSP, which now you will be able to enjoy it on your large screen through the PS3. Other feature is that you will be able to transfer data between two PS3 consoles with a LAN cable connected.

To update, go to System Update under the Settings option in your Ps3 dashboard main screen.

Like I mentioned in that post, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is one of those games that doesn’t work well with widescreen monitors. Over at Widescreen Gaming Forums, a fix has been posted that you could try.

Remember, the changes you make the CFG file in your game is done at one’s own risk.

Browse to your MW2\players\ directory. Note that it’s not MW2\players for all people. Search config.cfg in your c:\documents and settings folder, and you should find the config file. Open config.cfg in wordpad and add the following lines:

set developer “1″
set sv_cheats “1″
set thereisacow “1337″
bind M “cg_fov 90″

Once ingame press M to increase your FOV. You can also change “90″ to whatever FOV you prefer. Optionally, if you don’t want to have to remember to press M to set your FOV, locate the line ‘bind W “+forward”‘ and change it to:
bind W “+forward;cg_fov 90″
This will set your fov automatically as soon as you walk in each level.

Changing FOV in config_mp.cfg is untested, but it may work (no idea if this is detected by VAC).

A couple of days ago, we posted a few photos that surfaced on the Internet showing the PS3 dahsboard with Facebook features and options in it. Well, they did look legit and the rumours have been true, afterall!

PS3 Firmware 3.10 now brings Facebook to your PS3 dashboard. You will have to install the new update by directly updating from within your PS3 or by computer.

New Facebook settings can be found under the Account Management section of the PlayStation Network area of the cross-media bar (XMB).

The official PS3 Software Update website still shows PS3 firmware 3.01, but it should soon be updated.

Scrawl has seen the images posted on the United Kingdom section of the PSN which show Facebook options in PlayStation and we could expect that as early as in the next firmware update.

No updates or announcements of the next firmware update, but it could be on Christmas, or even before that. For now, we only have these three screenshots from the PlayStation dashboard with Facebook features.

If you ask me, I’d also like to have Twitter integration for my PS3!

id Software’s John Carmack has revealed that Doom 3 and Fallout could make their way to the iPhone 3GS. He also added that it took them around six weeks to port Doom to the iPhone.

Since Doom 3 has intense visual graphics, Carmack should be looking to focus to port this game only to the iPhone 3GS and to the third-generation iPod Touch. He also added in his notes, “I think we could do the real Xbox Doom 3 game on a 3GS. That is pushing it a bit but you could probably get that kind of visual fidelity.”

Carmack also told that Fallout could also come to the iPhone. A demo is already made, but not much is known when it will be out to the App Store.

Though I’ve played Doom 3 a lot on my PC, but having it on iPhon3GS is one exciting game I’m looking forward to play.

While Sony and Microsoft are busy getting motion controllers to their consoles, Nintendo is in works to stop Sony and Microsoft from getting successful.

Yoichi Wada, President of Square Enix, the biggest Japanese game house, broke the news about the next generation Nintendo Wii. The next-gen Wii will offer the same capabilities as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and will feature a brand new motion controller.

No specific release date was unveiled, but according to the rumours, the next-gen Nintendo Wii is slated for 2011 release.

The game has been getting mixed reviews, so it would be too early at the moment to give any final word about the game.

EA today released the demo version of NFS Shift for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. The game is suppose to be out somewhere this week, but for now, you can enjoy the demo.

The demo offers two tracks (London River and Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps) and five cars from the game.

Apart from PC and console demo versions, a PSP edition by EA Bright Light was also released earlier this week.

This DLC was in news from a while and is finally released today for download.

The “Insane Night Map Pack” includes two new challenge maps, “Totally Insane” and “Nocturnal Hunter.” I haven’t played them yet, but they sure look interesting like the rest available.

This DLC is already available for Xbox Live Gold members and should be available for PS3 and PC users later today, though PC users are reporting issues with Games for Windows Live and are not able to download this map pack.

Uncharted 2 will feature never-seen-before graphics engine used in this game along with a new gameplay that PS3 users will be the first to experience on a gaming console.

Yesterday, a new edition of Uncharted 2 was unveiled to be released with the usual version called as Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Fortune Hunter edition.

What’s so special about this? According to a recent blog post on the PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog’s Creative Director, Amy Heinnig, announced that this edition will prove a complete treat for Uncharted 2 fans and will have an exact replica of the Phurba Dagger artifact with its stand and will include a Collectible Art Book and a collector case which will be autographed by Naughty Dog.

This special edition cannot be bought from any store, but you will have to win it by winning competitions. There is even one going to announced on the PlayStation Blog soon.

But yesterday, they finally unveiled the first trailer of the Grand Theft Auto The Ballad of Gay, a part of the “Episodes from Liberty City” disc alongside The Lost and Damned.

The trailer definitely shows that Rockstar has a lot more in for us than what they offered in GTA IV. Helicopters with mini guns, golf carts, driving through explosions, pit fighting, parachuting out of an exploding helicopter – We didn’t get to see all that in GTA IV, and The Ballad of Gay Tony will bring that all right before you next month.

Xbox Live users will be able to get their hands on this on October 29th. For now, enjoy the trailer :)

Take-Two Interactive announced today that they will be releasing Grand Theft Auto game for the iPhone and iPod Touch this fall.

It will be a port of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, which is currently on Nintendo DS and soon will be available on PSP this October, but with low-resolution textures as compared to PSP’s.

According to CNet:

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars promises a typical GTA experience, complete with the sexual content and vulgar words that have made it such a controversial franchise. Rockstar told me that it had no trouble with Apple’s App Store policies and that the game will be made available as is.

If that’s the thing, then this game is a sure hit in the App Store! No release date or price has been announced, but will be one kick-ass App Store game to look out for!

PSP firmware 6.0 has been released to game developers to test and debug all their games that they are fully compatible with the new firmware when it rolls out.

The only changes we know about are that security vulnerabilities along with hacking-protection has been made stronger, making it more difficult to modify the firmware now.

PSP Firmware 6.0 is expected to release on October 1 along with PSP Go!

This is the thirteenth game in the Grand Theft Auto series and Rockstar Games announced today that Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be coming to the PSP on October 20th.

Sony wasn’t going to keep quiet and announced their own motion controller for PlayStation 3. For now we only knew that Sony was working on that peripheral, until today, when an actual release period has been revealed.

At a recent interview with Times Online, Sony executive Kazuo Hirai told:

“We are slating it for spring of next year. One of the things is that we just don’t want to put out the controller. We need a great software that supports the controller at launch. It’s something that we’ve been working on for the longest time.”

Yep, you got that right! It’s spring 2010. Now I’m all excited up for Microsoft to announce the release date of Project Natal.

Looks like Nvidia is in need to sell out some cards as they have come up with an exciting offer which would be very appealing to people looking for a new graphic card.

Sony has done it with PlayStation, PlayStation 2 and now with PlayStation 3 – slimming down the bulk from the initial release models.

PS3 Slim will have a 120GB HDD drive (not sure if it’s upgradable), 2 USB ports and the same powerful processors that come in the original PS3. One thing that is to be noticed is the addition of bitstreaming Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, something which you won’t find in the PS3. One drawback of PS3 Slim is that it won’t have backwards compatibility with PS2 games.

The console war seems to get more inetersting with the new PS3 prices announced by Sony. The current PS3 and the coming PS3 Slim, both will have a price tag of $299 on them.

And oh yeah, Sony is also rebranding PlayStation with a new logo and new box-art. Will this all help Sony win the gaming console war? Do share your views in the comments.

Last time I remember they gave out free licenses to FIFA 09, and after that N-Gage users in India got free game codes from Nokia. And this time, it’s UK’s turn to get free codes.

Getting your free game code is very easy. Just visit NGage Wizard and enter your details. Your free game code will be emailed to you. You can use this game code to purchase any game you like from the N-Gage Store.

First this promotion was for all worldwide users, but today they changed it to UK N-Gage users only. I wasn’t able to get one either. Bad luck, I guess.

Update: The N-Gage Wizard website is down for maintenance at the moment.
