It’s been 8 months since I first started blogging. I’m not a pro-blogger, but still I have come up with a few tips that I think will be found useful by the new bloggers. This is my first attempt in giving out tips. :) And that also with a bunch of links from some of my favorite blogs.
1. Own Domain: Your domain should be small (10-12 characters are enough) one and easy-to-remember. For more tips on choosing domain names, read Shaun’s article.
2. Good Host: If you have a self-hosted blog, then host it on a reliable host. Make sure your is a reliable one, has no downtimes and has 24/7 support. (If anyone has written a good article on importance of good web-hosting, please let me know below. I’ll add the link here.)

10 Ways to increase traffic
This post has been guest blogged by Shaun Low from Shaunlow.com, a blog about blogging!
Blogging is all about communication. If you are a shy person in the internet world then blogging might not be your cup of tea. You have to be able to communicate a valuable point to your readers, read other blogs and participate in online discussions. If you expect any form of traffic to your site your going to have to do a bit of blog promotion. Here are some important tips that will help drive some traffic to your site!
1. Create quality and meaningful content
Everyone always says backlinks are queen but quality content is king. You should provide useful information which will cause your readers to return to your blog. No matter what niche you cover you will have something to say but make sure you present your information well to your readers.
2. Visit other blogs in the same niche
Reading other blogs in your niche will not only give you extra knowledge and experience, but you should comment on articles that interest you. If you say something interesting in the comments section on other blogs your readers might want to check out your blog to see what else you have to offer. Also signing up with MyBlogLog and visiting other blogs will leave your picture left in the MyBlogLog space that is on the blog you are visiting. This will bring in a few extra visitors.

Last night, I opened my WordPress Dashboard to check out all the comments and link backs. I clicked the more button, and went to the Technorati page to check my authority. And there, to my surprise my authority was only 25 and my rank was 1 :D
I refreshed the page several times to see if there’s a problem at my side. But the rank remained the same. I even took a picture :)

It’s better not to think about what to blog from before. I always get a lot of things to blog about when I start my PC. :)

Essential SEO Plugins for WordPress
I have been using WordPress for 5 months now. I have come across many plugins and I have even tried most of them. It included all types of plugins. With my experience with WordPress and with the help of my friends, I have finally been able to compile a list of the essential plugins needed for optimizing WordPress (your blog) for search engines.
So the list goes like this…
Google Sitemap WordPress Plugin – The most important! Get your blog posts indexed on Google with this plugin.
Optimal Title WordPress Plugin – You hate long titles, right? Even search engines do. This plugin will display the page title before the blog name. That’s saves a lot of time and helps you get more hits!
Ultimate Tag Warrior – It is a tagging system that helps search engines crawl your site in a better way. You can even make tag clouds and play with many other customizing features.
Permalink Redirect – It does a permanent 301 redirect. Saves your post from being copied :)
All-in-One SEO Pack – Yup, the title says it all. You can easily set your page title, tags, description from this one plugin!.
If you have liked this post, then you would also like to know how to reduce spam by 99.9%.
Have I left out any plugin? Feel free to add it.
