Make Free Calls from Gmail to US and Canada

Google has continued to evolve its Gmail web mail service which now includes a fully featured instant messaging service from the user’s inbox. CNET has reported that Google may be taking the next step in revolutionizing their Gmail, as “Google is testing a Web-based service within Gmail that will allow users to place phone calls from their in-boxes.” The new reported VoIP service will act more or less like the inbox version of Skype: letting users make VoIP calls to not only other Gmail or Google Talk contacts, but also to landlines and cellular phones around the globe.

Internet Explorer User Interface Leaked

Google Earth 1.1 Updated with Ocean View Support

Google has just updated the Andoird app of its world geographic software, Google Earth to version 1.1 and this new version brings support for the oceans of the world. Users can now take an in depth look of how the surface beneath the vast oceans looks like and zoom in and out for their viewing pleasure. Google Earth 1.1 also has Flash supports, so not only pictures of the aquatic regions of Earth can be viewed, but videos related to it can also be seen via the incorporated Flash player.

The Google Earth for Android 1.1 app is available for Android version 2.1 or higher.

Motorola Droid 2 Users Facing Signal Problems As well

Finally some support has arrived for Apple and Steve Jobs regarding the Antennagate issue. This support however is of a different type than expected. TechCrunch has reported that users of Motorola’s latest flagship smartphone, Droid 2 are facing similar signal reception problems as with iPhone 4. The report also mentions that in their phone testing, Engadget found the signal reception bars to ‘fluctuate endlessly’ raising the suspicion of a possible problem.
