Nexus S software update is done OTA, which means you don’t need to connect the device to your computer. It is almost 89.9MB in size, which means you will need wifi to download the update.

How to Download Nexus S Software Update [GRI40]

In order to access the update, when the update is rolled out for you, you will receive a message on your phone’s notification bar. Simply download the update and wait for it to install. Follow the onscreen instructions and you’ll be all good to use it.

Alternatively, you can also go to Menu > Settings > About phone > Software updates, to check for any updates available.
