Nexus S went live at Best Buy stores from today, and I’m sure many of you Android fans would have probably got one by now.

We’re not yet confirmed if there is a method available to root Nexus S, but you can easily unlock Nexus S bootloader.

How to Unlock Nexus S Bootloader

It’s the same method used for the Nexus One, and now it works for the Nexus S as well. Follow the steps below to unlock Nexus S bootloader.

Remember: Unlocking your bootloader will perform a factory reset!

  1. Open command prompt
  2. Navigate to Android SDK directory.
  3. Type adb reboot bootloader
  4. Type fastboot oem unlock
  5. Use volume keys to select ‘yes, unlock bootloader’
  6. Use power button to select option
  7. And you’re done!
