Saudi Government Shuts Down Blackberry Services
As reported earlier, the government of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as per their announcement today shut down BlackBerry messaging service effective immediately. All three of the carriers in Saudi Arabia have blocked the BlackBerry messaging service due to the issues which had a dispute raised between the Saudi government and the BlackBerry administration about access to private and encrypted information of BlackBerry users.

More than 200,000 Android Devices Activated Every Day: Google
Who says Android is not one of the leading operating systems for smartphones today? Google today revealed statistics showing that the company is activating more than 200,000 Android devices every day. The fact was uttered by Google CEO Eric Schmidt, who also said that this was after a rise of 40,000 since the month of June in 2010.

Bad news has struck both Research In Motion (RIM) and all BlackBerry users present in Saudi Arabia as the authorities there announced today that they would be blocking some of the BlackBerry services from this Friday. This decisions comes at the time when RIM is already having a hard time in the Middle East with several countries having an objection on the services provided by RIM.

Facebook for Android was one ugly app that badly needed an update with its ugly UI and some features. This new update brings many new features such as a new UI, friends requests, video playback and events support.

In the last update, Facebook added Inbox support to the app, but the latest Facebook for Android 1.3 is a much-needed update we all wanted from the ugly UI it had.
HTC Evo 4G gets Android 2.2 OTA Update
Finally, the long wait for HTC Evo 4G users is over and Google’s flagship mobile operating system’s latest update, Android 2.2 (nicknamed “Froyoâ€) is rolling out to all users of Evo 4G. Like the previous Froyo updates given to the Google Nexus One, Evo 4G also gets the latest version of Android operating system via over-the-air (OTA) upgrade from today, August 3, 2010.
