Finally, the long wait for HTC Evo 4G users is over and Google’s flagship mobile operating system’s latest update, Android 2.2 (nicknamed “Froyo”) is rolling out to all users of Evo 4G. Like the previous Froyo updates given to the Google Nexus One, Evo 4G also gets the latest version of Android operating system via over-the-air (OTA) upgrade from today, August 3, 2010.

Along with the usual enhancements present with the Android 2.2 e.g. voice dialing, USB tethering, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, support for Adobe Flash 10.1 and the ability to install applications to removable storage, the latest update for Evo users also brings some minor upgrades to the smartphone’s capabilities which include a flashlight app for users who want some more flexibility with Evo’s already capable camera. The upgrade size is 84.34MB and the system upgrade version written in the OTA update message is version number 3.2.651.6.

So if you are a HTC Evo 4G user then just wait patiently for that OTA upgrade to arrive on your phone and when it finally notifies you, just install the upgrade and do share your views about how it works with us.
