Adobe Air 2.5 for Android to Support P2P Video Chat

air_logo Adobe and Google’s Android smartphone operating system are going hand in hand these days. The Android 2.2 update added support for Adobe’s Flash 10.1 (something which Apple has decided never to include in its iOS) and seems like Adobe is returning the favor to Google.

Adobe is releasing its newest app development platform, the Adobe AIR 2.5 for Android OS which will let users publish ActionScript 3 projects to run as native applications (.apk) in Android. Apps developed and published using AIR will be available in Android Market.

However, the focus today is not Air 2.5, but rather a few nifty little things which will accompany the AIR release when Adobe officially launches it. According to the official Adobe Flash blog, FlashTime, P2P video calling app would be introduced by Adobe in Adnroid 2.2 come their release of the AIR development platform. This news, also covered by Droid Life weblog, that the Flash supported video calling app will have support for camera, microphone and speakers as well. For more details, check out the action below.
