Sprint Hero and Samsung Moment Getting Android 2.1

android Sprint has announced that they will be releasing Android 2.1 Eclair update for Samsung Moment and HTC Hero by the end of this month.

An HTC forum member mentioned that the expected release date for Android 2.1 for HTC Hero could be 26 March, who spoke to HTC executive to troubleshoot his HTC Hero and had a conversation about the release date for the new firmware to fix issues related to HTC Hero.

samsung-star Samsung has announced that they will be launching a new handset, Samsung Star S5233T, which will have a TV receiver analog as well. This will enable users to watch all the free TV channels on their mobile. Samsung Star has already been released in Southeast Asia and looks like they will be releasing the phone in other parts of the world as well.

Blackberry 6.0 OS Screenshots Leaked Online

bb Looks like RIM will be rolling out an update for Blackberry, BlackBerry 6.0 OS, in the near future. Some images have been leaked on BBleaks which shows some leaked screenshots of some mobile operating system and claim that they might be of Blackberry’s new OS version.

The images show that the new BlackBerry OS 6.0 will support touch screen display and surprisingly, will come with support for widgets as well. Rumors suggest that the device running OS 6.0 has the same resolution as BlackBerry Storm or Storm 2.

wp7rom Microsoft announced that they will be launching Windows Phone 7 Series handsets this year, but long before that the Windows Phone 7 ROM has already been unlocked by Dan Ardelean.

The unlocked ROM reveals more of the pre-production mobile OS that Microsoft didn’t want you to see. Dan Ardelean published a BIN file which removes the locks Microsoft has put in order to hide certain features of Windows phone 7 Series operating system. Looks like Microsoft still has something in mind which can surprise the users.
