Twitter Launching @anywhere Service

twitter-logoEvan Williams, Twitter CEO, plans on introducing a new feature in Twitter, @anywhere, which will allow Twitter users to connect to their Twitter accounts using third party websites. This service allows users to easily share news while reading them online from different websites like The New York Times, eBay etc.

Twitter said they have developed a new set of framework which will improve Twitter experience. The new @anywhere feature does not work on the API already implemented by Twitter but works with simple javascripts. The owner of the side needs to add few links of javascript on his site to use this feature.

Some sites that will be testing out this new @anywhere feature include Amazon, AdAge, Bing, Citysearch, Digg, eBay, The Huffington Post, Meebo,, The New York Times,, Yahoo!, and YouTube.

Facebook Connect by Facebook also provide the same function so there is a big challenge for Twitter ahead as they have to compete with many big websites.

The launch date of this feature is not yet finalized by Twitter but it looks like they will be rolling out this new feature really soon.
