PlayStation Move Announced, Motion Controller by Sony

playstation-move-whiteSony announced PlayStation Move yesterday. Yes, the long-rumoured motion controller was finally unveiled by Sony.

This long stick-shaped motion controller has been named PlayStation Move, which brings all the rumours of it being called the Arch (or previously known as PlayStation Motion Controller) to an end.

The announcement was made during Sony’s Game Developers Conference event yesterday. Several games were also demoed that you will be able to play with the PlayStation Move.

playstation-movePlayStation Move is Sony’s answer to the Xbox Project Natal and Nintendo Wii and boy, the device looks amazing!

This device will be sold in several bundles/packages. There will be a “Starter Kit” which will include the Move, PlayStation Eye (camera) and a game which is expected to go on shelves at less than $100. Or it would be sold as a standalone device – cost of which is still unknown and could be sold bundled with the PlayStation 3 console too.

Sony also unveiled a wireless “PlayStation Move Sub-Controller” featuring an analog stick which will support Move in games. This is similar to that of Nintendo Wii’s Nunchuk.

Some of the games demoed at the Game Developers Conference were Sports Champions, Move Party and SOCOM 4 will be fully playable with the PlayStation Move and its Sub-Controller.
