Overclock Motorola Droid and Nexus One

If you have been wondering what’s the reason for Motorola to keep the Droid/Milestone CPU at 530MHz instead of full 600MHz, well we all are. But for now this can be overclocked by 50MHz more and you can make your Droid work at 600MHz.

This only involves risk and it is reported that your battery life will significantly decrease.

SetCPU is an overclocking application for Android. It will work with most if not all rooted Android 1.5/1.6/2.0/2.1 builds on supported devices. This app/tool is free for XDA members or else costs 99 cents if you want it from the Android Market.

Warning: Very low or higher than normal frequencies may freeze your phone. If your phone freezes, just yank out the battery.

This tool is reported to work with the HTC Hero, Acer Liquid, Nexus One and the Motorola Droid.

Download SetCPU

I’d recommend you to get the app from the Android Market as the developer is running out of cash and would love if you buy it for $0.99.
