Chrome OS Netbook Release Date, Specifications & Price Leaked

google-chrome-logoGoogle has been working on a lot of things and we just can’t wait to know what exactly it is and when it is coming out. First, we have the Nexus One being rumoured to be released for $199 next month.

Now, we also have some details of the Chrome OS Netbook leaked out, thanks to IBTimes. Not sure, how reliable these ‘leaked’ details are, but according to them the Chrome OS netbook release date, specifications and price is out.

Chrome OS Netbook Release Date

The rumoured time period for Chrome OS release is somewhere by the end of 2010. I know this is not a confirmed release date, but we could only hope for sooner.

Chrome OS Netbook Specifications

The specifications of this netbook powered by Chrome OS are as follows:

  • 10.1-inch HD-ready, multitouch screen (1280×720 resolution)
  • ARM Processor (probably 1.6 GHz)
  • 64GB SSD (No HDD!)
  • NVIDIA Tegra Chipset
  • 2GB RAM
  • Multi-card reader

Other features include WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G, webcam, USB ports and 3.5mm audio jack.

Chrome OS netbook will reportedly also come with pre-installed Google apps such as Google Map, Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calender and Google Search by Voice.

Chrome OS Netbook Price

The rumoured price for the Chrome OS Netbook is around $300. Seriously, if this netbook is launched at this price, I’m sure it will easily take out other netbooks in the market. $300 is pretty cheap when compared to the networks available now.
