Apple Maps Navigation in iPhone 4G, Really?

apple-iphone-maps-Apple coming out with their own Apple/iPhone Maps Navigation application? Well, I’m glad Google did a great job with Google Maps Navigation which was included in Motorola Droid, running on Android 2.0 and now has been added to some devices with Android 1.6.

MacRumors have found a new job listing in Apple for an iPhone Software Engineerwho will work on the Maps application for iPhone and iPod Touch.

According to Apple, they want to take the Maps app to the next level and this is what they have to say about it:

We want to take Maps to the next level, rethink how users use Maps and change the way people find things. We want to do this in a seamless, highly interactive and enjoyable way. We’ve only just started.

After getting maps navigation in Android, Google would never want to include that in its iPhone Maps app as both the OS are direct competitors. There is a possibility that Apple might want think of dumping the (Google) Maps app that comes by default on the iPhone and iPod Touch.

There are no words of when such an app would be released, but it could really make it’s way to iPhone OS 4.0 or the rumoured iPhone 4G.
