Rumours have been up that Apple will start shipping OS X Snow Leopard this Friday, but there was no pre-order announcement of the product.

Costumers interested in getting Mac OS X 10.6 get pre-order now now. Free shipping starts on Friday, August 28th, for the customers who pre-ordered and as well as all Apple retail stores will get it on the same day.

Apple believes this is just a performance upgrade over Mac OS X Leopard, the actual single-user license is for $29, whereas the family pack costs $49.
