iPhone OS 3.0.1 Released, SMS Flaw Fixed

Recently, an iPhone SMS vulnerability was revealed by Charlie Miller at this week’s Black Hat conference. It was known that Apple is working on a patch and just a few minutes ago they released for everyone to update.

According to Apple, the vulnerability was “Receiving a maliciously crafted SMS message may lead to an unexpected service interruption or arbitrary code execution”.

The iPhone OS 3.0.1 patch has been released and all the iPhone users are advised to update their devices. iPhone OS 3.0.1 is about 230MB in size, which means Apple might have included something more in this update other than the bug fix.
