Opera Turbo, Get Faster Browsing Experience
Opera unveiled its latest innovation today called Opera Turbo, which aims to provide faster browsing experience by compressing compress bandwidth consumption.
This is basically for users who surf the Internet a lot while on the go (i.e. on mobile phones). More and more people now rely on wireless and mobile-Internet connections, and with that in mind Opera launches Opera Turbo to increase mobility and on-the-go connectivity needs of end users.
Opera Turbo will be showcased at Mobile World Congress, which is to be held between February 16-18 in Barcelona Spain.
What Opera Turbo will actually do is it processes the data that is sent to a mobile phone and compresses it by up to 80 percent, which reduces the network traffic on the operator resulting in inexpensive web browsing on mobile phones.
Turbo will be available to Opera Mobile, Opera Mini and Opera Desktop users. Even devices with limited hardware capabilities will be able to enable Opera Turbo and offer faster download rates.
Opera plans to showcase lots of new things at MWC09, such as Opera Mobile and Mini on smartphones like HTC HD, Samsung Omnia and Sony Ericsson Xperia.
