I'm new to the forum and new to Iphone. I've just bought an Iphone 2g and unlock it with QuickPwn22-1.

The whole process went fine and when I insert the T-mobile sim I can see the signal bar but the phone displayed a message " Different sim Dectected, please connect to itunes".

I connect to itunes and itunes displayed " The sim inserted does not appear to be supported...".

I got stuck here and can't do anything with the phone except I'm able to receive incoming calls.

I'd appreciate for any suggestions !

wow,

guys, I am moving country and was trying to unlock my iphone 3G 2.2.1

I am really bad at computing stuff, and realised that the recent upgrade to 2.2.1 deleted loads of apps including cydia which I can’t get anymore.
tried to get quickpwn, yellowsnow and everything i could but just can’t. maybe I am not up to date enough with the internet machine. Anyway it looks like I should consider myself lucky!!!!

Just wondering if I will be able to use my iphone again when changin country and therefore service provider. or if I’ll need to get a new one…

yellowsnow0.9.8 cannot unlock 2.2.1 frimeware and 2.30. modem frimeware because your bootloader is not 5.8, your could be bigger like mine 6.02.
Yellowsnow will work on bootloader 5.8 with any modem frimeware.
dont jailbreak with quickpwn because it will make your iphone 2.30 and bootloader 6.02.
Use pwnage!!!

U can restore your iPhone and wait 3.0 and jailbreak&unlock app

you talking about baseband 3.0.0.3. is this from the beta? And you could downgraded from this baseband to working baseband 02.28???? As I know, if you have baseband 02.30 and NO bootlooder 5.08 you can not use yellowsnow in any way to get an unlock. Or did you find a way? But i guess if so, there would be already a way out from DEV team, or not?

if u have phone with baseband 3.0.0.3 so yellow snow can not unlock it first down grade it and then apply yellow snow it will.
i unlocked my phone by my self.

I’m hate those damn turboSIM crap. Everytime u loose single you have to pop it out and put it in another gsm phone, then put it back. But the only time I loose signal is when i’m not at home, so now i’m carrying around my old gsm phone and a paper clip in the car. But what really suck is i have to keep pop out the my SIM and the turboSIM so much i broke the lifter inside the phone plus it doesnt slide in and out every smootly…I’ve almost broke my case but i broke the SIM card tray instead to get the SIM card out and saved the casing. But if i have to go out of town i just bring my old GSM phone.

DEV TEAM PLEASE HELP SOON BEFORE I BRAKE THIS IPHONE!!!!!

I can guess whats going on here,…Is Dev Team waiting to get their hands on the 3.0 software update so they can extract the Bootloaders from 2.2.1 and 3.0 and create a way to to implement that into quickPWN and Pwnage softwares creating an unlock?….Isnt that how it works?….Well lets not bite the hand that feed’s people,…How can anybody talk bad stuff about Dev Team?….
Dev Team has been there since Day One, remember the 1.1.4 bootloader on the iPhone 2g that had everyone stuck without an unlock?….But Then came the 3G and it was unlocked by
DEV TEAM in no time,….Seems apple likes to throw a final F you to all the unlocker’s out there just before the release of a New Product Hence the New Release Of iPhone CP due out this June,…I would not expect an unlock for 2.2.1 BB 2.30.03 until near that release, However if DEV TEAM has Their Hands on the 3.0 OS you can expect them to also hold out before releasing it until the new handsets arive because an update will be soon to follow the new handset release causing all the hard work to be flushed down the Toilet.

Be Patient DEV TEAM HAS NEVER LET US DOWN.

Is it so hard to understand that they are waiting to extract the modern firmware from the developer 3.0 version so they can use the bootloaders from 3.0 and 2.2.1 to create an unlock via pwnaged and quickpwn? And to the people who talk shit about Dev team, Dev team has been helping since day one and they ALWAYS come through, I was number 20 in line at the San Francisco original Iphone release and bought two iPhones and because dev team I had them unlocked and sold for $2300 each the first week!!! And everybody claimed bb1.1.4 long ago was unlockable! I think dev team sorted that one out prior to the release of the 3g seems apple likes to give us unlockers a final fcuk you before they release a new device,…new iPhone this June!!! Don’t fret guys dev team will unlock 2.2.1 bb2.30.03 just in time for the iPhone CP (copy/paste) due out this June!!! After all it boost’s sales to block unlockes right before a new release!!! Be patient dev team will sort it out.

There is still NO unock for the 2.2.1 (2.30.3) baseband, I am using an I-smartphone sim adapter, it is not the greatest, I have had it for 4 days now, the only issue is that I have to take the sim card out, every day, put it back into a regular t-mobile phone and then back into the iphone to pick the tmobile signal back up, other than that, my calls are clear, even had tmobile rep make sure i can get online, so everything works, just the in/out of the sim card daily which is nothing

I use my iphone for internet mostly at work anyway, and i use my blackberry for regular calls, so if yellowsn0w(devteam) taking a little longer than people expect, buy a sim adapter, most of them are $30 bucks and under.

the yellowsn0w 0.9.8 supports 2.2.1, only if it was updated using a pwnage tool, meaning that it supports 2.2.1 running on 02.28.00 baseband.
IT DOES NOT SUPPORT 2.2.1 ON THE NEW BASEBAND
