Samsung, Android Phone in First Half of 2009
It’s about time we get more Android-powered phones in the market. The only one I know of is G1. Other manufacturers have promised to release soon, but no signs of them yet.
After getting a chance to use Android on G1, I’m eagerly waiting for Android to hit other handsets i.e Samsung, Motorola etc. Samsung recently hinted of coming out with an Android phone in the first half of 2009.

It was previously expected in Q3 of 2009, but Chi Young Cho, Samsung’s Head of Digital Media and Communications Unit, says:
In the first half of 2009, the company’s smartphones will come with “various OSes to satisfy the diverse needs of our customers.â€
Well, what does this mean? I’m sure Samsung usn’t going to jump on Windows Mobile so soon. So this surely means, Android! Their touchscreen handsets, which are to be released in H1 2009, are also going to get some upgrades including UI improvements.
I just hope more Android phones release in the first half as I’m planning to get one soon!
