opera-10-logoIt looks like yesterday when Opera was all set to release version 9.5 with a brand new skin, and today Opera Developer blog wrote about the upcoming  Opera 10, which will use an all new and improved rendering engine.

Opera 10 will be powered by Opera Presto 2.2, which is the newest rendering engine for the Opera browser. It provides significant improvements in speed, performance and security.

Download RapidShare Files Using Raptor

raptor-logoAs we all know, RapidShare has many limitations for it’s free users, like no simultaneous downloads, download timer and you can not even add multiple links in queue. Plus you have to individually start each download after it finishes.

Recently, while browsing an underground discussion board, I came across an excellent tool to download files off RapidShare. It has nothing special, other than free users can add multiple links in a queue and download in a fully automated way.

Send Free SMS from Gmail

Gmail seems to be on a roll with all the new features it has been introducing. Canned messages, Gmail for mobile, emoticons in emails and now a new feature that lets you send free SMS.

This new feature has been added to Gmail Labs that allows us to send and receive text messages and have conversations all from within Google Talk in Gmail.

Windows Live is almost ready to unleash Windows Live wave 3, and no, this won’t have BETA versions. It will have full and final versions of all Windows Live applications. And today I was surprised to see the new Windows Live homepage which is now turning into a social network.

With this, they have also updated their Windows Live services for mobile users. Windows Live Mobile brings all your favourite Windows Live services in your reach and you can access them from any phone. Just make sure your phone has an internet browser. ;)

Firefox Mobile for Symbian S60 Devices

A couple of months back, Mozilla introduced Fennec, which is Firefox for mobile devices. I’m sure Firefox needs no introduction as it’s one of the most popular web browser available for desktop.

Fennec was initially released as an alpha version for Nokia N810 internet tablet and had plans to release for Windows Mobile as well. Being a Symbian user myself, I wasn’t glad to see that I won’t be able to run my favourite browser on my Nokia N96.

Upload Facebook Photos from Desktop

People who have me on Facebook will know that I recently added about 7 albums in my Facebook Photos of my 3-day trip to Karachi, for the Bloggers Meetup (review coming soon) there.

Even though Facebook lets us upload photos through it’s own Java-based or simple uploader, I had to find a desktop solution because my Firefox kept crashing in the middle of upload process.
