Wikipedia Mobile Now Goes Live

wikipedia-logoWikipedia needs no introduction as it is the biggest and the most popular online encyclopedia. It has served me hundreds of times as the best source of information, for just anything I want!

The only thing I always wished it to have was mobile-friendly web pages as it took quite a lot of time opening in a mobile phone. It was also a problem for bandwidth conscious or people with limited data transfer. Well, no more worries people!

They have now officially launched their mobile version, which has been optimized for all types of mobile devices and runs on all mobile and desktop browsers. The mobile website of this encyclopedia is very simple, with just a Wikipedia logo and a search box.

Longer articles are split into multiple pages to save bandwidth. I think this is a great step by Wikipedia for those who want encyclopedia on the move. You can check it out from the following link.
