Gmail Adds Colourful Emoticons
We have come across several new additions and releases by Google in the recent past, such as canned responses in Gmail, AdSense integration with Analytics and the release of Gmail Mobile 2.0.
Another new feature has been added to Gmail today which is one of the most requested features. Yep, you are right! It’s the smiley/emoticon support for emails.
Previously I had shared a Greasemonkey script that allowed you to use emoticons in Gmail, but it’s no longer needed as this long-awaited feature has been officially added by the Gmail team!

Plus, these new set of emoticons have also been added for the chat conversations. You can see it in the screenshot below.
