Download OpenOffice 3.0 Suite
After months of beta testing, the most popular open-source office suite, OpenOffice has finally released its final version OpenOffice 3.0.
Lots of improvements and enhancements have been made to make it the perfect alternative for Microsoft Office. Some fine GUI tweaks have been done to support Mac OS X along with improvements in the spreadsheet, collaboration, language selector etc.
The latest OpenOffice 3.0 supports both Microsoft Office binary file formats (.doc, .xls, .ppt etc.) and the latest Office 2007, 2008 formats (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx etc.).
The best part is that inspite of being free, it supports multiple platforms i.e Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and Solaris.

Why is everybody shouting final version…when 3.0 is still in release candidate…2.4.1 is the stable release currently in the offing at their site??? Please verify the same and let there be light ;) !!!
