Today, on August 31, marks the 13th anniversary of the original Command & Conquer: Red Alert. C&C: Red Alert is a real-time strategy game of the Command & Conquer franchise.
It was first produced by Westwood Studios, but later released by Virgin Interactive in 1996. This games has been sold over 25 million copies to date. To mark this occasion and in a promotion for C&C’s upcoming sequel, Red Alert 3, Electronic Arts is offering the original Red Alert as a free download today.
To download Red Alert, visit the promotion page, and scroll down for the links for The Soviet Disc and The Allied Disc. Both are of 500mb in size and are in RAR format.
For the installation of this game, you will need Winzip or Winrar to unrar the files. These files have also been compiled in to an ISO image. You will need to burn the ISO to a CD for the software to function or use a Virtual CD program to run the installation on your computer.
