Real Player 11 for Linux Now Available
Real Player is a popular multimedia player that supports number of formats and features to play your digital content. It plays streaming audio and video over the Internet in real-time. You can also use it to download videos directly from YouTube.
Real Player 11, based on the open-source Helix player, has been finally released for Linux, and now users can enjoy the popular Windows Media and RealMedia formats in Linux. The user interface is based on GTK technology which means it will adopt your theme and blends itself accordingly to your desktop environment.
The new Real Player 11 supports an extensive list of video and audio codecs which are all free to use. You can also create, save, edit and manage different playlists for any event or mood. It now also supports 5.1 surround sound which means you can enjoy 5-channel audio plus a dedicated sub-woofer channel for streaming or playback through either your ALSA or OSS sound system.
