Ever wanted to share a large file through email? How about a 500 MB family video clip? But can’t because of the attachment file size restrictions, right?

HJSplit is a popular freeware that allows you to split large files into small chunks in whatever size you want. Your split files will be with the extension as filename.avi.001, filename.avi.002, filename.avi.003, filename.avi.004.

This freeware supports many platforms inlcuding Linux and all versions of Windows. It also supports DOS, Amigo and Java! HJSplit can also join back the parts that were split before. The interface is pretty straight-forward so I don’t think it needs any explanation.

HJSplit is very reliable, simple, small and easy to use tool. It does not need any installation or complicated DLLs, it just consists of one EXE file. This means that you can also run it directly from a CD-ROM, or a USB flash drive.
