And yesterday, the Flock team announced about the availability of the first beta version of Flock 2 for download. Till now, Flock has been running on Firefox 2′s code, but with the release of Firefox 3 later today, Flock 2.0 will soon be released, which will be powered with Firefox 3′s code.

Windows Vista has a very nice feature of showing various balloon notifications in the bottom right corner of your desktop in the taskbar. These balloon tips can be off Automatic Update, security reminders, anti-virus updates, speech balloon announcements or other system updates. But this nice feature can get annoying, at times, for people like me, who like no unnecessary stuff on their dektop.

This updated toolbar contains no new features, except that it now works with Firefox 3 and they have tweaked the search box a bit. Google Toolbar 5 Beta is currently only available for IE.

Microsoft Videos Beta Launched
Microsoft has recently launched their own video site called Microsoft Videos, which allows you to watch rich media from Microsoft. The site’s tagline says, discover and watch Microsoft’s collection of online video. This site is still in beta. You can look for latest videos from their Quick Picks, search for videos or choose from the video categories. To use the player on the site, you will need to install the Microsoft Silverlight plugin which is availabe for free download.
You can embed videos on other sites, email or Digg them. At the moment, it only has U.S. content because it’s still in its early stages. But in the coming months they’ll be adding videos from Microsoft subsidiaries around the world. Stay tuned for more updates on Microsoft Videos.

Opera is no doubt one of the fastest, and most powerful web browser available. Of course, Firefox is still my favourite browser, but we can’t put Opera behind. It uses only 20MB of memory as compared to Firefox’s 60MB memory consumption. One of the best features and first of its kind in Opera is the Speed Dial feature. It was introduced back in April 2007, in Opera 9.2. It lets you visit your favourite and most-visited sites quickly with a mouse-click.
In earlier versions of Opera, it wasn’t possible to edit the number of slots but with the latest release, it is now possible using a very simple hack, thanks to Opera Watch.
