Windows Vista has a very nice feature of showing various balloon notifications in the bottom right corner of your desktop in the taskbar. These balloon tips can be off Automatic Update, security reminders, anti-virus updates, speech balloon announcements or other system updates. But this nice feature can get annoying, at times, for people like me, who like no unnecessary stuff on their dektop.

How To Disable Balloon Notifications In Vista

Here’s a simple trick by which you can easily disable the balloon notifications in Windows Vista.

Reminder: Since registry editing is required, make sure you backup your registries first before making any changes.

1. Open Registry Editor (Run > type regedit).

2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerAdvanced

3. Modifiy EnableBalloonTips and change its value to 0.

4. Err.. Done!
