I was just discussing this yesterday, about the Firefox 3 RC1 given on the Mozilla FTP. And look, here we have the RC1 announced by Mozilla team today. Wondering what’s new? Check out the release notes for this.

Many fixes and improvements have been made to improve security, and performance. Including fixes for stability and web-compatibility. One major change that you will all notice is the change in the user-interface. Looks like Mozilla heard my shout! “I want a better default theme!” :P

You can download Firefox 3 RC1 from here.

Check For Updates

Beta users have already been getting the notifications for upgrading. If you are a beta tester, and still haven’t got any notification for updates, then, in your Firefox, go to Help > Check for Updates to download the latest release.

Looks like we are very close to the final version, and I hope they don’t keep rolling out RC versions like they did with Firefox 2. Remember readers, if no major bugs are found in this release, then the the next version that will be released by the Mozilla team will be the Firefox 3 final!
