u can do it thro gtalk as well. click on settings in gtalk and ull have blocked option on the left side.. select it and ull find a list of users u've blocked. select the user and click on unblock. Its simple

i found out an easier way…as long as you have the persons email address then you should still be able to retrieve it pretty easily…open your email until chat is loaded…on the top of the Chat box there should be a search, add, or invite box…type in their email address there and move right once the contact is found until you find where it says they are blocked with a check next to where it says they are blocked…click on that check mark to unblock the contact…this should do it…hope this was helpful…sry if it was a bit confusing

You can unblock a contact by typing their name in the Search, add, or invite field at the top of your Chat list. Then, in the blue box that appears, hover over your contact's name and select Show in chat list.

theres an easier way that consist on unchecking block afer typing the person's name in the gmail chat search bar.

i think adding the person is the simplest.. :)… it doesnt go as an invitation since that person has added you prior to this…

actually, you helped me out, but i found a shortcut along the way! in #2, you open the tab… and well… when i did, i saw under 'show in chat list', 'block so-and-so' with a little green check mark next to it. i clicked on 'block so-and-so', and the check disappeared… so now so-and-so is unblocked… and oddly i tried clicking on his profile and nothing happens. so thanks anyways :)

hai i am mag here and i know all the above u said.but i have tried a different way hey its really working ya….
go to GOOGLE TALK- then SETTINGS- have some more titles go to BLOCKED one- in that what ID u block have to be SELECT first- click UNBLOCK to your right side button and make it ok.

Just wondering…

I blocked some spam (a bot or person with way too much free time posing as “AIM” (AOL IM) on my g chat… and every time I log in they still send me chats! Its so annoying. It says this person is offline, and my only option is to unblock him so I know he’s blocked! If anyone sees this and knows whats up email me!

I got an issue. I blocked a person on GTalk. But still the person is able to ping me on chat from the same id that I had blocked. Just to confirm, I chkd the blocked list again, the personâ€™s id is still there.

How is this possible?

Pls throw some light on this asap.

HEYY OMG!! Another way to type the name of contact in search contact box choose the contact and click always show in list. It will also unblok

Heh, this is stupid.. GTalk is easier than this. It’s under “settings”.

But it would be better to show the user, but with a unique icon indicating that he is block. Just like other IM software.

So google is still doing a not-so-good-job, they are not god, but hell they need to learn from other IM software. GTalk is still beta, so that’s an advantage on google’s side.

yes i think i’ve mentioned, if someone blocks you on their list – you cannot unblock yourself on their list – they have to do it themselves.
that’s why the block option exists, if people don’t wanna talk to you they can just block you.
i dont know if this is what you meant.

Actually I did the same thing, I blocked and deleted that person so I am not sure what it says to them but it gave me a notification that says “this person wants to add you on google talk, do you accept or not?”
I am not sure if they were asked to be added on google talk :???:
But either way if they say why are you adding me again, just make up some story how you did it by accident ha ha.
Besides you can always go invisible and then talk to whoever you prefer, others wont know that you’re online :grin:

No I don’t think so. I just deleted one of my contacts to check, it puts them back on my chat list through the same process I mentioned. I don’t think it asks them to add you again. Remember you just appear to them as offline whether you deleted them or blocked them.
