Google Acquiring Wikipedia?
Well, after acquiring YouTube, rumors are that Google’s next target is Wikipedia. In the past, Google has been after all information related portals. So this means, Google’s next target is Wikipedia?
I’ve compiled a list of recent acquisitions by Google. Check them out below.
- Deja News now Google Groups
- Outride.net
- Google documents (Forgot former name)
- Applied Semantics – now Google used it for its AdSense/AdWords services
- Kaltix.com – Kaltix now Google Personalized Search.
- Blogger – Blogger was the flagship product of Pyra Labs.
- Picasa -
- Keyhole – now Google Maps,
- Zipdash – Google acquired this traffic/mapping company in 2004
- Where2 – It also had something to do with Google Maps.
- Urchin – a web analytics and statistics company. Now used with
AdWords/AdSense, - Dodgeball – something to do with Google Mobile.
